Why not just use a screen recorder?

You can absolutely record your session with OBS, Loom or QuickTime. Plenty of traders do — for about two weeks. Recording was never the hard part. What kills it is everything after: a six-hour file, a hunt for the entry, an editor, a crop, a caption, an upload. TradeCut doesn't record your screen. It records your trades.

Why not just use OBS, Loom or QuickTime?

You can. Recording was never the hard part. A general recorder gives you one long file of your whole session, and then the work starts: find the entry, trim the exit, cut the dead time in the middle, crop it, write a caption, export, upload. That is fine once a month. Do it after every trade and you stop doing it. TradeCut is built for the part that comes after the recording, not the recording itself.

So what does TradeCut do that a screen recorder does not?

It records around the trade instead of around your day. It runs quietly for the whole session, cuts a clip at the entry and the exit, and tags it with the symbol, the time and the result read from your chart. You get a captioned clip cropped for every platform, a library you can search by ticker, time and P&L, and a share link anyone can open without an account. Rendering happens in the cloud, so your machine stays free during market hours.

Does it only work with TradingView?

It records any trading software on your screen. What is TradingView-only today is the automatic part: TradeCut watches your TradingView position list and cuts the clip by itself when a trade opens and closes. On any other platform you record the session and mark the trade yourself, and TradeCut still cuts, captions and exports the clip. More platforms for automatic detection are on the way.

What do I need to run it?

A desktop app for macOS or Windows, running on the computer you already trade on. There is no browser or mobile version — TradeCut records the screen you have your charts open on. Your clip library and the clip editor are on the web, so you can review and export from any browser once a clip has synced.

Can I share a clip without sending a file?

Yes. Any exported clip can be published as a single link that plays in a browser — whoever you send it to needs no account and no app. You can revoke that link at any time and it stops working immediately, including after a trial has ended.

What do I get for free, and what happens when it ends?

The free trial is 7 days with up to 14 clips, and it needs no card, so nothing is charged when it ends. After that you pick a plan: Starter at $14.99 a month for 28 clips, or Pro at $29.99 a month for 125 clips, which also exports without the TradeCut watermark. Your clips stay in your library either way.
